Gesture Clock Construction

.This clock has two parts, a box made of solid oak and a self-contained electronics assembly.. 

The box has a front and four sides, The electronics assembly is based on a steel sheet which forms the back of the box to which it is attached by four screws.

This sheet has these parts fastened to it:

• The battery holder,
• A bracket to which is glued the programming connector,
• A bracket with the booster-charger module attached,
• A bracket with the micro-controller attached,
• A bracket holding a circuit board for all of the discrete parts. It is also used for connections,
• A three-way toggle switch which is not normally used,
• A pressure-sensitive film on the back acts as a push-button for wakeup from standby.
• A bracket for the display assembly. This supports it almost touching the front,

The display assembly has attached to it the DS3231 breakout and the apds-9960 breakout modules,

All of these parts are interconnected by plug-in jumper cables, many of which are combined into custom harnesses. However the DS3231 breakout and the apds-9660 breakout modules use Adafruit’s STEMMA connectoys.
